Why Not To Set Up DIRECTV Satellite Dish Service
Recently, DIRECTV® has begun pushing how its dish antennae have five low-noise block converters compared to the four that come standard with a DISH Network® antenna. Never mind that DISH Network is the only American satellite TV provider whose antennae receive circularly-polarized signals in the non-direct broadcast satellite portion of the fixed-service satellite band (it’s OK if you don’t understand what that means – it’s a good thing); apparently DIRECTV’s extra LBN, and subsequent higher costs, impress people. And, consequently, lots of people have been trying to learn more about how they can set up DIRECTV receivers and set up DIRECTV satellite dishes.
DISH Network, in contrast, tries to do more with less to keep its prices low. And, as the DISH Network deals featured on InternetLion.com show, DISH Network customers enjoy much of the same programming for far less than those who set up DIRECTV receivers and set up DIRECTV satellite dishes. Set Up DIRECTV Satellite Dishes or Receivers vs. DISH Network
The main reason not to set up DIRECTV receivers, or set up DIRECTV satellite dishes for that matter, is that DIRECTV leads the industry in subscriber costs. Consider: The cheapest DIRECTV package (the CHOICE package) costs $24.99 per month, $4 more per month than a comparable DISH Network package. But that’s not counting the charges and fees DIRECTV charges to set up DIRECTV receivers in your home, or activate your service.
This fee on top of the $24.99 per month you’ll have to pay for service, the $7 per month DVR fee and the $10 per month HD fee (for the CHOICE package) bring the total cost to set up DIRECTV satellite dishes to $146.99 for a CHOICE account in the first month. AND if you want to set up DIRECTV receivers in every room in your home it will cost you an extra $20, bringing your first bill to $166.99.
DISH Network, in contrast, doesn’t gouge its customers. Everything except the service itself is free when you order DISH Network’s America’s Top 120 package with 24-Mo. Agreement. And that service is a low $24.99 per month. Plus, you can get free HD service from DISH Network, or have three free receivers set up in your home. Even the DVR service fee is lower at $6 per month. That’s, like, less than 1/3 the cost in the first month of installing a DIRECTV system.
DISH Network also offers HD Free for Life, with 24-Mo. Agreement and AutoPay with Paperless Billing, for ALL channel packages, including the starter America’s Top 120 package. DIRECTV does not offer HD Free for Life with their starter CHOICE package – only their CHOICE XTRA packages and higher.
Plus, after the initial promotional pricing period of 12 months, the monthly fees on the DIRECTV channel package increase by $29 per month, whereas the monthly fees on the DISH Network channel package increase by only $15 per month. DISH Network pricing is simply lower for more, backed by top quality service.
