Time Warner Cable vs. DISH Network
Any comparison of Time Warner Cable® vs. DISH Network® is going to seem a little one-sided. After all, considering that Time Warner DVRs, Time Warner Cable HD channels, Time Warner Cable HBO packages and Time Warner Cable NHL Network offerings are all inferior to similar DISH Network deals, even Time Warner itself couldn’t seriously attempt a side-by-side matchup without admitting its own flaws.
So it’s not just that we here at InternetLion.com are a little biased as DISH Network affiliates. Heck, Time Warner DVRs, Time Warner Cable HD channels, Time Warner Cable HBO packages and Time Warner Cable NHL Network offerings fair so poorly against DISH Network’s services that we’d willingly talk up even the smallest instance of Time Warner superiority just to remain fair.
However, seeing as no such thing exists, we’re just going to have to bash Time Warner cable yet again with the following list of five reasons you absolutely don’t want to subscribe to this outdated provider:
Top Five Reasons You Want DISH Network vs. Time Warner Cable
Reason No. 5: There Are Fewer Time Warner Cable HD Channels
This one’s a big deal if you have an HD TV because with Time Warner you really aren’t getting your money’s worth. Consider: Not counting Pay-per-view and On Demand channels, in a Time Warner Cable vs. DISH Network lineup comparison for New York, NY, there’s a total of 147 Time Warner Cable HD channels; DISH Network, meanwhile, offers over 200 channels with HD programming.
What’s more, the cost for Time Warner Cable HD channels doesn’t stack up in a Time Warner Cable vs. DISH Network comparison. For instance, it costs $72.95 per month for Time Warner’s basic package. Then, you have to tack on an extra $33.00 per month if you want to receive HBO, Cinemax, Showtime and Starz Time Warner Cable HD channels, which adds up to $105.95 per month. Compare that to DISH Network’s biggest package, the America’s “Everything Pak” which already includes HBO® , Cinemax® , Showtime® and Starz® channels at no extra charge and is priced at only $74.99 per-month!
Reason No. 4: There Are Fewer Time Warner Cable HBO Channels
Perhaps only folks with highfalutin equipment can appreciate our first reason for choosing DISH Network deals over those offered by Time Warner Cable. But our second reason should have everyone raising an eyebrow. Not only do premium movie channels cost more with Time Warner Cable, but there are also fewer of them. In the case of HBO, for instance, Time Warner offers only seven HBO channels in both standard and high definitions.
With DISH Network, in contrast, there’s a total of nine HBO channels in SD and HD. And, again, they come free with a DISH Network “Everything” Pak for about $4 less per month. Plus, DISH Network’s “Everything” Pak comes with all the other movie channels as well. To get the same channels with Time Warner, you’d have to pay over $20 more. Comparing Time Warner Cable vs. DISH Network in these terms, ordering DISH Network just makes more sense.
Reason No. 3: Time Warner Cable NHL Network & Sports Channels Have Hidden Fees
This one’s pretty obvious: With Time Warner Cable you have to pay an extra $3.95 per month to watch your favorite hockey, football and baseball games. With DISH Network, such channels are included not only as part of the America’s “Everything” Pak, but are also part of the provider’s super reasonable America’s Top 250 Pak for a mere $39.99 per month. We’re not sure, but it seems, for instance, that getting your NHL Network fix for $26.91 less per month is a heck of a lot more logical.
Reason No. 2: Time Warner DVRs are Inferior
The penultimate reason for choosing DISH Network over Time Warner Cable in our Time Warner Cable vs. DISH Network comparison is that DISH Network offers superior equipment. For instance, while Time Warner DVRs will let you set recordings from your smart phone or laptop, only DISH Network’s ViP922 will actually let you watch all your favorite channels on your laptop or smart phone like an iPhone® or Android®.
What’s more, DISH Network offers its subscribers up to three HD receivers for free with 24-Mo. Agreement. And that goes for whatever DISH Network package you order, whether it be the $24.99 per month America’s Top 120 package, or the top of the line $74.99 per month America’s “Everything” Pak. Time Warner, in contrast, can only promise one free HD receiver with its $72.95 per month digital cable package and charges $12.95 for each additional HD receiver you order. We’d beg the question of “Why pay more for less?” again, but we’re pretty sure at this point you’ve got the point.
Reason No. 1: Ordering DISH Network Service is Only a Few Steps Away
You’re already visiting an official DISH Network retailer, and after all the reasons we’ve given you to choose it over Time Warner Cable, it doesn’t make sense to click away. Of course, you could always visit Time Warner’s site and discover all the facts we’ve just listed for yourself. But why not save yourself some time and check out the DISH Network deals listed on our site? We promise you’ll find something that fits your budget. And, best of all, as a DISH Network customer you won’t experience any buyer’s remorse. We challenge Time Warner to say the same.
