The main reason for this is that Charter charges over $50 for its most basic HD package. That is more than twice the cost of DISH Network’s starter package, the “America’s Top 120” package, which offers network programming in HD as well.
Furthermore, although Charter does not charge for your first HD receiver, Charter receivers do not have dual tuner capabilities. As a result, you will have to pay $10 extra with Charter to watch your programming on more than one TV; in Marquette, MI, the total comes to $64.99 per month when, for $20 less, you could get DISH Network’s “America’s Top 250” package with over 250 SD channels, Free HDTV for Life, with 24-Mo. Agreement and AutoPay with Paperless Billing, and a free dual tuner receiver. All in all, going with DISH Network over Charter for your HD network programming just makes good sense.
