DISH Network’s Premium TV Package Deals
In previous articles, we here at InternetLion.com have pointed out that DISH Network®’s programming, equipment and pricing options consistently beats out the options offered by cable providers. Now we’re going to deliver the knockout blow to cable by explaining how DISH Network’s Premium TV package deals can be ordered together to increase savings. Better still, as with DISH Network’s HBO® package, deals on DISH Network Playboy® satellite channels and Showtime satellite channels actually offer more entertainment options from these networks than premium movie deals from DISH Network’s competitors. How To Save With DISH Network TV Package Deals
To reiterate what we explained in our previous article on DISH Network’s HBO packages, Time Warner Cable’s HBO package for New York, N.Y., costs $14.95 per month. But to receive it you also must subscribe to Time Warner’s Digital Cable package for $72.95 per month. DISH Network’s HBO package, meanwhile, seem a bit pricier at first glance, costing just over a dollar more at $16 per month. But to order these premium channels, you only have to have an America’s Top 120 package which costs a mere $24.99. Plus, currently DISH Network is offering BLOCKBUSTER @Home Free for 3 months AND HBO®, Cinemax®, Showtime® and Starz® (offer subject to change based on premium movie channel availability) are all FREE for the first three months for new DISH Network customers.
Suffice it to say, $42.96 per month (or $515.52 per year) in savings is a big deal. But now let’s look at what happens when we compare the companies’ TV package deals for multiple premium movie networks: Time Warner offers a package with HBO®, Cinemax®, Starz® and Showtime® TV channels for $33 per month for the first 12 months. Adding the mandatory Digital Cable package, then, the total monthly payment would be $105.95.
Alternatively, Time Warner subscribers can order HBO, Cinemax®, Starz® and Showtime® TV channels, plus Movie Channel® and Encore® channels, at a rate of $14.95 for the first network, $12.00 for the second, $8.00 for the third, $8.00 for the fourth, $7.00 for the fifth and $6.00 for the sixth. All told, a package of all sixth channels (including the cost of the requisite Digital Cable package) would be $128.90.
Save Big With DISH Network Premium TV Package Deals
Now, again, you might think this is some kind major savings, but only if you’re unfamiliar with other TV package deals, specifically DISH Network’s. For one thing, DISH Network’s America’s “Everything” Pak, priced at $74.99 per month for the first 12 months with 24-Mo. Agreement, includes premium channels like HBO®, Starz®, Cinemax®, and Showtime® TV channels. The only premium channel not included in the America’s “Everything” Pak is the DISH Network Playboy satellite channel service, which can be ordered separately. Plus, by ordering The America’s “Everything” Pak package, you’ll get over 295channels total, whereas with the Time Warner option you’ll only receive around 200 channels, but you’ll be paying more per month.
And, even if you do want to receive your HBO, Stars, The Movie Channel, Cinemax, Encore and Showtime satellite channels in both SD and HD, DISH Network still makes better sense than cable. Broken down here’s how this works: To match the size of Time Warner’s Digital Cable package, which offers “150-plus channels,” we would have to go with an America’s Top 200 package, which offers about 50 more channels for half the price at $34.99 per month, with 24-Mo. Agreement. Then, we would simply take advantage of a DISH Network deal similar to Time Warner’s in which each successive movie package you order decrease’s the subsequent network package’s cost.
This price structure goes as follows: $16 per month for HBO, $13 per month for Starz, $13 per month for Cinemax, $13 per month for Showtime satellite channels and $16 per month for DISH Network Playboy satellite channels, or $52 per month for all five. So, you see, by ordering an America’s Top 200 package and all five premium movie channels you’ll get all the entertainment you can stand for $91.99 per month at a $10 to $30 per month savings off Time Warner’s offering.
Now, we realize you may not particularly want DISH Network Playboy satellite channels. And in that case you can cut them out and get your HBO, Stars, Cinemax, Encore and Showtime satellite channels for $10 less per month, or a $20 to $40 savings per month over Time Warner. So, as you can see, there’s no pricing trick that requires you order the DISH Network Playboy satellite channels. Whether you order them or not, you’ll still fell a heck of a lot smarter and receive far more channels in trendy ‘ole NYC than friends who get suckered by Time Warner.
