DISH Network Customer Service at InternetLion.com
It’s probably not the first thing you’d think about when choosing a TV service provider. But the battle between satellite and cable companies can often be won or lost based solely on the quality of their customer service.
The problem is, most prospective customers can’t foresee the big storm that will disrupt their service in six months. Of course, it’s true they might unknowingly choose a provider with round-the-clock support. But it’s just as likely they’ll end up waiting a whole weekend to report a problem because their cable company’s offices are closed.
How to Compare DIRECTV®, Comcast Cable® & DISH Network®
And yet, the strangest part of this whole “cable crapshoot” is, it isn’t even necessary. Everything prospective customers should know about home TV service is available for free on most consumer-awareness Web sites like JDPower.com—which publishes annual reports based on DISH Network, Comcast and DIRECTV* customer reviews.
Still, maybe with all the worries of moving on your plate, you haven’t had time to visit these sites. That’s why InternetLion.com has done the work for you, culling the numbers from the most recent consumer reports to help you better compare DIRECTV, Comcast Cable and DISH Network customer service departments.
Before We Compare DIRECTV, Comcast Cable & DISH Network…
…We’d like to explain where we got our information.
You see, according to JDPower.com, many TV service providers have upped the ante when it comes to basic features. In the case of customer service, for instance, JDPower.com Telecommunications Director Frank Perazzi said providers’ improvements resulted in a 13 percent decrease in average hold times to 9 minutes, 5 seconds, since 2008.
Consequently, JDPower.com reported that—based on thousands of DISH Network, Comcast and DIRECTV customer reviews—there was a rise in customer satisfaction with every company’s customer support. And some companies that were once rated “The Rest” moved up to “Average” on the Web site’s rankings chart.
But what do all these numbers mean for you? Well, for one thing, you can expect the customer service of whatever company you choose to be better than it was a year ago. And yet, this isn’t to say that DIRECTV customer service and DISH Network customer service are the same as Comcast Cable’s customer service. Self-improvement, after all, is definitely a plus, but it doesn’t mean a company has outdone its competitors.
Customer Service for Comcast Cable TV Packages
When you compare DIRECTV, Comcast Cable and DISH Network customer service departments, the first thing you’ll notice is how poorly Comcast’s offering stacks up.
Many of Comcast’s local service offices are only open during the week, with limited weekend and holiday hours. Consequently, if you live in certain areas, the company won’t be able to send a technician to your home after 1 p.m. Saturday until the following Monday morning.
Much of this is moot, however, because Comcast cable TV packages aren’t available in every region. And, even in regions where they are available, Comcast cable TV prices vary depending on where you are.
As we’ve stated in our other satellite TV articles, Comcast Cable deals and Comcast cable TV prices are lackluster. Tack on similarly lackluster customer support, and there’s no question who would win in a Comcast Cable vs. DIRECTV or DISH Network showdown.
All in all, then, you simply can’t compare DIRECTV, Comcast Cable and DISH Network customer service departments to each other—and, just like JDPower.com, we here at InternetLion.com have no choice but to give Comcast cable TV packages a “The Rest” rating, not because we’re biased but because, realistically, it’s the only honest ranking we can give them.
DIRECTV Customer Service
Contrary to the rating JDPower.com gave DISH Network’s customer support, we here at InternetLion.com feel it’s as good, if not better, than DIRECTV’s. The reason for this is that, in a side-by-side comparison of DISH Network vs. Comcast Cable vs. DIRECTV customer service, DISH offers both English and Spanish e-mail, telephone and live chat support. Also, DISH Network is rated #1 among all Satellite and cable providers in customer satisfaction, according to the 2010 ASCI (American Customer Satisfaction Index) survey results.
This can be a major problem for hearing-impaired customers because, while DIRECTV’s telephone support offers TTY services, TTY machines are no longer as prolific as home computers and text-capable cell phones. In this regard, then, DIRECTV bombs big-time, even in a Comcast Cable vs. DIRECTV matchup.
DISH Network Customer Service
Contrary to the rating JDPower.com gave DISH Network’s customer support, we here at InternetLion.com feel it’s as good, if not better, than DIRECTV’s. The reason for this is that, in a side-by-side comparison of DISH Network vs. Comcast Cable vs. DIRECTV customer service, DISH offers both English and Spanish e-mail, telephone and live chat support.
Add that to the fact that DISH Network deals outstrip DIRECTV and Comcast Cable deals and that DISH Network prices are lower over time than DIRECTV and Comcast cable TV prices, and it’s obvious which TV service provider you should choose.
* “DIRECTV” or “Direct TV” Customer Service?
In your quest to compare Direct TV, Comcast cable, and DISH Network customer service you must remember that, if you’re using terms like “Direct TV customer service” or “Direct TV customer reviews,” your search will likely turn up results for “DIRECTV.” If it does, don’t worry. You’ve found the right company, and you’ve indeed found the information you were looking for about “Direct TV customer service” and/or “Direct TV customer reviews.”
Although many people think “Direct TV” is the name of this popular satellite TV provider, the correct name is not two separate words, as in “Direct TV,” but only one word, spelled D-I-R-E-C-T-V. Because InternetLion.com, like many other advertisers, must comply with U.S. trade mark and copyright laws, we must remain faithful to the companies’ desired spellings.
Of course, you might personally think “Direct TV customer service” looks better than “DIRECTV customer service.” But the company doesn’t, and it’s its right to spell its name however it wishes. Therefore, if your search for “Direct TV customer reviews” returns a bunch of DIRECTV customer reviews, don’t get flustered. You’ve found exactly what you were looking for.
