Deals On DISH Network Packages
Here at InternetLion.com we try to mix up our article topics. Sometimes, for instance, we’ll explain how to install a satellite dish; other times we’ll publish a piece on the full history of subscription TV.
But there is one kind of article those who visit our site regularly have come to expect like it’s clockwork: Our quarterly comparison pages, which keep our readers updated on the latest deals on DISH Network® packages and how they compare to the cost of digital TV and DIRECTV® TV deals.
Of course, as usual the deals on DISH Network packages we’ll be discussing will cost less than the cost of digital TV offers from other providers and will even offer savings over DIRECTV TV deals. But, also as usual, we aren’t going to simply give you blanket statements without any backing.
Rather, we’re going to give all the hard facts and figures needed to prove the deals on DISH Network packages this fall are as good as they’ve ever been. So forget what you might have heard from other digital television reviews. And, for goodness sake, don’t you dare order a cable or DIRECTV TV deal till you’ve let us have our say.
Deals on DISH Network Packages vs. Cable
You don’t have to read many digital television reviews to know how most cable customers feel about their service. For the cost digital TV providers charge, they should either offer a heck of a lot more or they should at least offer something with its super-expensive packages that DISH Network doesn’t.
Take, for instance, Comcast’s Xfinity™ digital cable service: For $29.99 per month Xfinity customers in South Beach, FL get a mere 80 SD channels, including local-affiliate and On Demand channels. They don’t get any HD channels. They don’t get a free trial of premium movie channels. And, most importantly, they don’t get free DVR service or free installation on multiple TVs.
What’s more, we here at InternetLion.com aren’t the first to notice how expensive Xfinity is for the services it offers. A quick Google search yielded a nasty comment in some digital television reviews that called Xfinity “too expensive and less entertaining.” That’s a real customer called “cb” talking there too, and it’s hard to imagine he’d just say such things.
Of course, it really isn’t Xfinity’s fault that it charges more for less. The simple fact is cable companies aren’t able to service every location in the U.S. so they have far fewer customers. And, because it costs more to continually lay and maintain a cable infrastructure in the context of Xfinity’s total number of customers, it is likely the company passes these costs on.
Deals on DISH Network vs. DIRECTV TV Deals
Still, this isn’t to say that all satellite TV services are created equal. DIRECTV TV deals, like Xfinity packages, offer consumers less for more. Consider: A DIRECTV Choice™ package will cost digital TV subscribers $29.99 per month just for SD channels. In contrast, DISH Network’s $29.99 per-month America’s Top 120 package offers a full SD lineup, HD free for life (with 24 Mo. Agreement and AutoPay with Paperless Billing), a free HD DVR, free professional installation in up to six room and three free months of four premium movie channels (HBO®, Cinemax®, Starz® and Showtime®).*
If you ask us, then, all this math means just one thing: The best all-around deal in TV can only be had if you switch to DISH Network service. ‘Nuff said.
